Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: August 5, 2026
At WORKPRO® Tools, we believe everyone deserves equal access to our website. We continuously improve our website design to make it more accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. This page outlines the accessibility features of our website — from keyboard navigation to screen reader compatibility — to help users understand and navigate our website more effectively.
How Our Website Works
WORKPRO® Tools is an online store accessible via workprotools.store, offering professional-grade tools and accessories for home improvement and trade use.
- Browsing & Navigation: You can explore products across our homepage, collection pages, and search results. Collection pages may include filters to help refine results by product type or specifications.
- Product Pages & Cart: Clicking a product leads to the detail page with descriptions, pricing, and customer reviews. You can add items to your cart and review your selection before proceeding.
- Checkout: Our checkout is hosted and operated by the Shopify platform. You will be prompted to enter your shipping address and select a payment method to complete your order.
Accessibility Standards & Guidelines
Accessibility is an integral part of our development process. We work to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the principles of Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This is an ongoing effort and not all areas of our site currently meet these standards in full.
Accessible Design Features
1. Keyboard Navigation & Interaction
- Keyboard Support: Core site pages are designed to support keyboard navigation. You can generally press Tab to move forward through interactive elements, Shift + Tab to move backward, and Enter to activate links or buttons. Keyboard support may vary across third-party embedded components.
- Skip Navigation: Where supported by our theme, a “Skip to main content” option may be available to help users bypass repetitive header navigation. We are working to ensure this is consistently implemented across all pages.
- Interactive Overlays: We aim for cart drawers, search panels, and modal dialogs to support keyboard interaction. Behavior may vary depending on the component and theme version in use.
2. Content Perception & Visual Adjustments
- Zoom & Responsiveness: Our site is designed to remain functional at browser zoom levels up to 200% on most key pages, including the homepage, collection pages, and product detail pages. Some complex layout sections may not fully adapt at higher zoom levels; we are actively working to improve this.
- Alternative Text (Alt Text): We aim to provide descriptive alternative text for product images and key visual content. This work is ongoing — some legacy images may still have incomplete alt text while our audit and remediation continues.
- Color Contrast & Focus Indicators: We evaluate text and interactive elements against WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios. Some areas of the site are still being reviewed and updated to fully meet this standard. Visible focus indicators are present on most keyboard-navigable elements.
3. Screen Reader Compatibility
- Page Structure: Our store theme uses heading hierarchies and semantic HTML to support screen reader navigation. We aim to include ARIA landmarks and labels on key interactive elements where applicable.
- Compatibility Goals: We aim for reasonable compatibility with commonly used screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA on desktop, and VoiceOver (iOS) and TalkBack (Android) on mobile. Full compatibility across all screen reader and browser combinations cannot be guaranteed, particularly for third-party embedded components.
Known Limitations & Third-Party Disclaimer
While we strive for WCAG 2.1 AA alignment, some areas remain in active remediation or are outside our direct control:
- Third-Party App Components: Some functionality on our site is delivered by third-party Shopify apps, such as review widgets and customer support tools. We do not control the underlying code of these integrations. We select vendors with accessibility in mind and encourage compliance, but cannot guarantee their conformance.
- Shopify-Hosted Checkout: Our checkout pages are hosted and maintained by Shopify. Shopify works to meet accessibility standards on its platform, but these pages are outside our direct code control.
- Legacy & Rich Media Content: Some older product images and rich media content are undergoing review for alt text completeness and zoom layout adaptation.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
WORKPRO® Tools is committed to ongoing accessibility improvement. Our efforts include:
- Content Audits: Periodically reviewing pages and newly published content against WCAG guidelines.
- Vendor Engagement: Encouraging third-party app developers and theme providers to improve accessibility in their components.
- Remediation Planning: Prioritizing fixes for identified gaps, including legacy media and navigation components.
